Dear brothers and friends,
This month we are celebrating the 75th anniversary of the SEL. Our institution started back in 1933 with the name of Peruvian Biblical Institute by an initiative of three missionaries. In 1946 the association that now owns the SEL was founded. In 1962 the seminary started its classes on a professional level. In 1985 the seminary was recognized as a Professional Private Theological School and ever since issues nationally recognized professional degrees. During all this years of institutional development there has been a continuity in purpose. The emphasis of preparing pastors and other leaders for the churches continues. The basis of faith remains the same and the programs are still centered in the comprehension and the teaching of the Scriptures. We have many reasons to thank the Lord. The work continues, the programs keep on developing and there is a demand for them. There are good professors and an administrative team commited with the SEL's vision. As this ministry grows, the number of people involved in it grow as well. The same is true for our necessity of continually impove the quality of what we do and for the amount of resources needed.
We want to grow more in our relations with the churches and with the other institutions of theological education in our country and we invite their representatives to participate with us in the events announced on this bulletin. We wish all our students, professors, personnel, directors and collaborators the richest blessing of the Lord in this time and throughout all your life.
In Christ,
Donald Smith Kennedy

The Seminary of Lima is an interdenominational and independent institution of theological education, organized by an association of churches and missions. We extend an invitation to our activities organized for our anniversary to join us in this big cel n ebration of gratitude to God, and particularly to the anniversary service to be held on Monday 13th of October at 11:00am |

Book on Violence in the families of Peru:
The 17th of September the first book written by SEL’s professor Alberto Pumalaza Díaz was presented. This book gives very valuable points on the subject mentioned above.
The author gave thanks to God, his family and the people that were involved in this project. The seminary is honored for this achievement of one of its professors.
The families in Peru and in other latitudes suffer violence and t happens very alarming within Christian families. This why this book is of utmost importance not only because it is written within a Christian perspective but also because bridges a gap and it is a “wake up call” to stop family violence. |

* We thank the Lord for allowing us to celebrate 75 years of service to the leaders of the evangelical churches and for His love Turing all this time.
* So that the first stage of the development plan of infrastructure for our institution can become a reality and for the Lord to provide the resources needed to that end.
* For the people and institutions that support in many ways the seminary; for the Lord to help them in these difficult times and that they may be able to surpass the difficulties they are going through.
* For the events and conferences that will take place on our anniversary, they are a way to train and keep up to date pastors and leaders in our nation.* For the organizations that support and allow many students to be prepared to serve with efficiency in the ministry of the evangelical church in our country. |

Book on sale. Cost S/. 15.00
The World is changing so fast that many are left behind stumbled by uncertainty. This evil is taken a stand because of an erosion of the confidence in absolute truth and the traditional values. The result is a blind search for a reliable source that can provide purpose and meaning t olive. Some argue that going back to faith is against reason, everything about God is religion: is a crutch for the weak. Yet, these opinions are merely cartoons, fruits of ignorance. This book confronts false stereotypes and examines the overwhelming scientific and historic proofs that support the truth that God exists and that He is concerned with the future of people.
Dr. Donald Bierle has a Master´s and a Doctorate degree in Biology as well as a Master´s in New Testament studies. He has been a college lecturer for over 30 years and has a vast experience communicating complex matters in a clear, original and captivating ways. Currently, he is the President of FaithSearch in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA. imagensel@sel.edu |

Dictionary of Basic Greek-Spanish: Cost S/. 25.00
A valuable tool for the study of the New Testament message from the original language and useful for all who wish to initiate in the greek of the New Testament. The merit of this work is in the ability of synthesis and the criteria of selection used by his author. This work does not complicate the students while searching for information.
Whoever uses it will see that the usage of the New Testament greek doesn’t have to be complicated but at the same time will feel challenged to go beyond in the labyrinths of the Hellenic languages. |
